Demonstrators staged a march and silent protest through the streets of Abuja, the Nigerian capital, on Tuesday to mark the one-year anniversary of the abduction ofmorethan 200 schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram militants.

"We decided that we have spoken so often about this that we're just going to try to show the people what it feels like ... when your voice is taken from you, which is what the terrorists have done to our daughters," saidBring Back Our Girlsco-ordinatorObyEzekwesili before she placed red tape over her mouth.

"We have talked and talked and talked and talked for 364 days to date," said campaign memberMaureenKabrick. "So we feel it time to just go silent and express our pain by being quiet."
