RCMP dad busts a move in after-school dance party video

RCMP officer Robert Hynes started doing after-school dance parties for his children, who were having a tough time adjusting to their new school.

A video of a uniformedAlberta RCMP officer dancing with his nine-year-old son to a rap songis getting alot of attention on Facebook.

As of Thursday morning,the video ofConst.Robert Hynesbusting a move with hisboy,Kempton,had been viewed more than 95,000 times.

After-school dance parties havebecome a regular event in thefamily household since Const.Hyneswas transferred by the RCMP to the Barrhead, Alta. detachment.

He says dancing has been a greatdistraction for Kempton and his littlesister,Jessa.

"They're going to different school, one where there's probably double the amount of students ...so it's a much bigger school and it's kind of hard to make those friends that have already been living here in the community," he said.

"Even though they're used to the school now,it's a new grade, it's a new classroom, new set of classmates so, [there are] still struggles."

His wife, Lori, says although the are still "lots of tears,"the dance parties have really lifted her children's spirits.

Hynes says sheposted asecond video of her husband and daughteronYouTubelastNovember to send apositive message to Mountiefamiliesdealingwith relocation.

But where did this Alberta RCMP officerlearn those sweet moves?

"I was blessed to go to a high school where we had a production every year and all the students got together and created our own choreography and we had a live band and we performed the songs," he said.

"So yeah, it's kind of in me."
