New name added to Saskatoon mayoral race as nominations close

Saskatoon once again has four candidates running for mayor asnominations closed on Wednesday.

Devon Hein, a consultant, was added to the list of mayoral candidates when nominations closed at 4 p.m. CST. Candidates have 24 hours from that deadline to pull out of the election.

Hein will be on the ballot for mayor along with incumbent Don Atchison, Charlie Clark (who is currently a member of council) and Kelley Moore.

Former Saskatoon mayor Henry Dayday stepped back from the mayoral race on Tuesday.

Although Mairin Loewen was the only candidate in Ward 7 at the beginning of the day, another candidate was added to the ward at day's end.

As of Wednesday's deadline, the city lists the following as candidates for councillor:
