Byelection to replace former PC leader Tim Hudak to be held Nov. 17

Byelection announced for MPP seat in Niagara-West Glanbrook

Provincial byelections were called Wednesday for an Ottawa riding and the riding of Niagara West-Glanbrook, theseat vacated when former PC leader Tim Hudak stepped down last month to take a real estate job.

Voting day will be Nov. 17.

Hudak, who was first elected in 1995 at the age of 27, said in August thatafter21 years in provincial politics it wastime to make a change.

He announced he'd step down from his Niagara West-Glanbrook seat on Sept. 16 to become CEO of the Ontario Real Estate Association.
