The author of A Trial in Venice talks about her favourite book and why it inspires her every time she reads it.
Author Roberta Rich says Anna she finds inspiration in the tragedy of Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina.

RobertaRich, the author of A Trial in Venice, loves Leo Tolstoy's classic novel AnnaKarenina. For her, it's the one book that never gets old.

"The book I go back to again and again, both for inspiration and instruction, is Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I adore the book because I think he showsa brilliant insight into the hearts and minds of women.The emotional trajectory of Anna's downfall is beautifully paced and I think the dialogue is wonderful.

"Whenever I'm looking for comfort or inspiration I turn to Anna Karenina. It's a book I go back to, over and over again, because I've learned so much from it."
