Paul Quarrington

Paul Quarrington was a novelist, playwright, musician and filmmaker. He won the 1989 Governor General's Literary Award for fiction.

Paul Quarrington was a novelist, playwright, musician and filmmaker. In 2009, Quarrington received the Matt Cohen Prize from the Writers' Trust of Canada for his contribution to Canadian literature. He died in 2010.

His novel Whale Music won the 1989 Governor General's Literary Award for fiction. He also authored the bookKing Leary,which was awardedthe 1988 Leacock Medal for Humour and Canada Reads 2008 championed by Dave Bidini. Quarrington's novel Galveston, published in 2004, was nominated for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. He is also the author of novels Home Game, Life of Hope and non-fiction book The Boy on the Back of the Turtle, among others.
