City of Saskatoon goes public with growth plan

A public event for Saskatoons growth plan will be held on Monday.

The City of Saskatoon revealed its report, entitled Growth Plan to Half a Million, last week.

A public event for Saskatoon's growth plan will be held on Monday.

The growth plan summit will take place at city council chambers from 2p.m. to 11p.m. CST.

The meeting will be open to comments from the public beginning at 7p.m.

Last week, the city revealed its plans on how to grow the city over the next 30 years, entitled Growth Plan to Half a Million.

The report looks at the implementation of a rapid transit system, a new river crossing, and the development of strategic infill sites around downtown and the University of Saskatchewan's endowment lands.

The meeting will include a presentations from city administrators and Jarrett Walker, author of the book Human Transit.

The growth plan summit will be streamed live at www.saskatoon.ca/watchcouncil.
