2014 Brier coming to Kamloops

The Canadian Curling Association confirmed Tuesday morning the 2014 Brier will be held in Kamloops. The B.C. government has committed 100 thousand dollars toward the event with an additional 100 thousand coming from the B.C. lottery corporation. It will be held over ten days in March of 2014. The Canadian men's curling championship, was last held in Kamloops in 1996.

The newly rebuilt heliport at Royal Inland Hospital was officially unveiled Tuesday morning. It has been in use since October 10th. Prior to the heliports rebuild the air ambulance was forced to land at a city owned property on Mission Flats road.

The Armstrong RCMP say they'll have extra officers working Halloween to ease any fears residents may have, one year after the killing of a local teen. 18 year old Taylor Van Diest was beaten to death one year ago tomorrow night as she walked along rail tracks through
Armstrong. Matthew Foerster has been charged with the first degree murder in
