Adams River is the birthplace of millions of salmon. The sheer number of spawning fish and wide-eyed tourists are an impressive sight every autumn.

But neither fish nor tourists are appearing in significant numbers this year. The estimated sockeye count was fewer than 150 fish. Coho are beginning their run now, but are also low, similar to the sockeye.

To get a handle on this year's run Daybreak reached Celia Nord, the program coordinator of the Adam's River Salmon Society.
