Clover the Kermode bear escapes briefly

The Kamloops RCMP are investigating a suspicious two vehicle fire in Knutsford. Emergency responders were called just before 3 Wednesday morning to a property on highway 5-A. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage. No one was injured. It's unclear what started the blaze.

He is the only Kermode bear in captivity in the world. However Clover, the B.C. Wildlife parks newest guest, made a run for it tuesday morning. Kamloops RCMP say he got out of his enclosure around 10 AM. Conservation were called and Clover was tranquilized. The spirit bear is now back in his cage at the park.

The provincial government is investigating why toxic fly ash was shipped from a Burnaby incinerator to a landfill in Cache Creek. About 1800 tonnes was sent to the landfill this past summer. There are fears the material may be a danger to human health because the ash contains the metallic element, cadmium.

The Kamloops Blazers broke a franchise record last night, winning their 14th game in a row.
Colin Smith scored in shootout to give the Blazers a 3-2 victory over the Everrett Silvertips.
The Blazers, are the only unbeaten team in regulation in the C.H.L.
