Ktunaxa first nation nearing the end of treaty process

B.C.'s Liquor Control and Licensing Branch says it's "moving quickly to find interim measures" to fix a rule that's hurting B.C. charities.The Branch has recently forbidden charities from auctioning donated wine at fundraising events.

Domtar has reported a big drop in third quarter net earnings. The Montreal based paper and personal care products manufacturer says it made 66 million dollars for the period ending September 30th.Revenues fell to just under 1.4 billion dollars from the same period a year earlier.

Tonight the Ktunaxa first nation and the Federal government lay out what land is involved in their treaty. The Ktunaxa are in the late stages of the treaty process. The government has offered them 40 thousand hectares of land in parcels stretching from Golden to Castlegar.

A company that operates led and zinc smelters in Trail says it's putting the construction of a new 210 million dollar furnace on hold because of uncertain global economic conditions.
Teck unveiled the project in September 2011, saying it would increase the company's capacity to recycle end of life electronics.
