The numbers from the annual Kamloops Homeless count show 99 people are living without homes. Of that number 59 are men, 24 are women, are 9 are children. Tangie Genshorek, coordinator of the Kamloops Homeless Action Plan, says 45 of those people have shelter beds while 54 are live in the rough. Genshorek says there are just under 1200 hidden homeless in Kamloops, meaning people that could easily lose their homes with a slight rent increase.

Statistics Canada releases jobs numbers
New labour force number from Statistics Canada show B.C. lost 11 thousand jobs last month. But the unemployment rate still fell from 7 to 6.7 per cent because more people retired, went back to school, or just gave up looking for work. Over the last 12 months, B.C.'s job creation has been average when compared to the rest of the country. In pure numbers, it's fourth out of ten provinces. But when you take population out of the equation, and look at percentages, B.C. is sixth. In the Kamloops region there were 1,100 new jobs created in October, pushing the local unemployment rate down to 4.4 per cent.

B.C. has a new Lieutenant Governor.
Nicola Valley Rancher Judy Guichon is being sworn in as the 29th representative of the Queen in this province. Thursday night a special ceremony was held to mark outgoing Lieutenant Governor Steven Point.
