Bernice Hillier enjoys stories that warm the heart and challenge the norm. Being host of CBC Radio's Newfoundland Morning gives her opportunities to share those stories every day with listeners across Western and Central Newfoundland, the Northern Peninsula and Southern Labrador.

Hillier has wanted to be a CBC journalist since she was 15 years old, and she considers herself fortunate to be able to do it in her home province.

She studied Journalism and Political Science at Carleton University in Ottawa, and came to the CBC in 1993. Since then, she's worked in Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor, and Iqaluit, before joining CBC Corner Brook in 1998 as a current affairs & news reporter.
