Emily Piggford is a Canadian Screen Award-nominated actress with a body of work ranging from the big screen to digital series to the stage. Her on-screen career launched with Eli Roths Hemlock Grove (Netflix) opposite Bill Skarsgrd, and Emily has continued to shine alongside some of the industrys top talents from Academy Award winner Louis Gossett Jr in feature film The Cuban (dir. Sergio Navarretta), to Elliot Page in both The Umbrella Academy (Netflix) and Columbia Pictures FLATLINERS (from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo director, Niels Arden Oplev). Emily played a leading role in thriller miniseries The Sounds (Acorn TV/CBC, dir. Peter Stebbings) opposite Rachelle Lefevre, which filmed over four months in New Zealand, and she co-starred in the action-fantasy series Warigami (CW/CBC, dir. Jason Lapeyre), which was an official selection at the 2019 Canneseries Festival. Emily has had five projects make their world premiere at TIFF, including Steven Soderberghs The Girlfriend Experience (STARZ/Showtime, dir. Lodge Kerrigan). She made her TV-movie debut starring in The Evil Twin (Lifetime, dir. Max McGuire), acting opposite herself as both hero and villain. Emily also starred in as well as produced D.W. Watersons award-winning digital series, Thats My DJ, for which Emily received multiple nominations and two wins. Emily is a multi-disciplinary artist, with training in singing, dance, piano, and dramatic combat. She is Artistic Associate of the alternative theatre company Impulse Theatre and toured internationally with Canadian Stages revolutionary film-noir play, Helen Lawrence. Emily holds a BFA in theatre from the University of Victoria and is an alum of the Canadian Film Centres prestigious Actors Conservatory.
