Jeanne Armstrong

Jeanne Armstrong is an award-winning journalist with experience working on local and network CBC Radio current affairs programs. Originally from Thornhill, Ontario, Jeanne earned a BA in Journalism from Carleton University in 2011. Her curious nature and ability to dig deep to get the whole story has enabled her to become a gifted storyteller.From finding guests for the big headlines of the day with As It Happens, to discovering the weird and wonderful stories from local communities on CBC Ottawa Morning, Jeanne's tenacity has been key to her success. In 2020 she won a prestigious journalism award, an RTDNA, for As It Happens' coverage of Saudi women fleeing the Kingdom for safety in Canada.

Jeanne takes a community-minded approach to her journalism by actively building relationships and getting to know what makes a place tick. She helps audiences stay informed through a range of voices and perspectives in her storieswhether that be from community builders, business leaders, innovators, politicians, and all sorts of interesting people in between.
