Nil Kksal is the co-host of CBC Radio's As It Happens, alongside Chris Howden. She was previously the host of World Report, CBC's flagship national radio news show.

Born in Turkey, Kksal moved from Istanbul to Orangeville, Peterborough to White Rock, Vancouver to Toronto with short stops as a correspondent for CBC News in cities including London, Tunis, Washington, and New York along the way.

She started her career at CBC News as an editorial assistant working her way up to writer, video journalist, reporter, host, and foreign correspondent.

She covered the dramatic political and social changes in post coup attempt Turkey, the series of deadly terror attacks across the country, and the assassination of Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov.

She brought viewers several news documentaries including Secrets & Scars on the poison of polarization in Cyprus, the fight for LGBTQ rights, and Syrian child refugees.
