Barbra Streisand admits she doesn't sing at home

Barbra Streisand has one of the world's most iconic voices. It has won her millions of fans, countless awards and, at 72yearsold,the legendary performer is still putting out records (her latest,Partners, comes out today.)

The American superstar even made history Monday, appearing on late night television for the first time in five decades,to sing a medley of parody duets with Jimmy Fallon.

But if you'd like to sing along to Streisand's just-released record while making dinner tonight,you can forget any chance that Streisand will be at home doing the same.

In a Canadian broadcastexclusive with CBC'sJianGhomeshi, the singer made it very clear it's something she just doesn't do.

"I don't sing around the house. I don't sing in showers. Idon't sing...ever," insistedStreisand.

"As a matter of fact, if I sang Happy Birthday at a birthday party I would probably sound lousy."

'God kissed her throat'

The big nameartistswho perform with Streisand on Partners would likely disagree.As the title suggests, Streisand's 34thstudio album is a collection of duets with famous male vocalists such as Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder and Andrea Bocelli.

Canadian crooner Michael Bubl sings Frank Sinatra's part in the big-band standardIt Had to Be You.

"God kissed her throat and she'sblessed with this very beautiful voice," said Bubl about working on the album with the larger-than-life performer.

"But, Ithink what makes people fall more in love with her is her ability to tell a story and Iguess that's the actress in her."
