Comedy star Louis C.K. will headline JFL42, a new incarnation of Toronto's Just for Laughs festival, this fall.

The stand-up veteran, actor, writer and creator of TV's "Louie" will perform "all new material" in four concerts at the Sony Centre on Sept. 27 and Sept. 28, say organizers.

JFL42, in association with Air Canada, will run from Sept. 21 to Sept. 28 with 42 attractions.

Toronto has hosted several Just for Laughs festivals before, but this year's version is different in that it offers a $99 smartphone-based festival pass for all 42 events.

The smartphone pass gives holders exclusive access to an app with a mobile reservation and check-in system. The app will work on all smartphones, organizers say, while cellphone users can access a special mobile website.

The only way to reserve a spot for the Louis C.K. shows is by buying the $99 festival pass. They're not selling individual tickets for the 42 events at this time.

Passes go on sale on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at JFL42.com.

Other acts in the festival lineup will be announced in the coming weeks.
