Apple also said delivery of AirPods would start next week along with sales at Apple stores, Apple-authorized resellers andselect carriers.

Apple unveiled the AirPod, which is priced at $219($159 US), at thelaunch of the latest iPhone in September.

The launch delay was widely seen as a rare marketing slip-upby the company, coming as it did just before the start of theholiday shopping season.

Apple had said it needed more time to make the device readybefore putting it on the market.

The tech giant says its AirPods take advantage of their new low-power W1 chip, which they claim allows the device to provide high-quality audio and long battery life.

Apple also says their AirPods deliver five hours of listening time on one charge, and the carrying case can also charge the headphones to bump total battery life to over 24 hours.

The headphones will also have Siri-integration, sensors that know when to play and pause music, and the ability to sync with iCloud, which allows the headphones to be used with other devices signed into the same account.

The AirPods will be available in more than 100 countries at launch, including Canada.
