Bombardier says it has resumed test flights for its CSeriesjets, akey next-generation aircraft that has been in a holding pattern since one of the jets had an engine failure while on the ground last May.

Bombardier says it has worked with engine maker Pratt & Whitney to come up with a fix for the engine's oil lubrication system since the incident, which happened on May 29.

The first test flight in more than three months took off Sunday from Bombardier's testing facility in Mirabel, near Montreal.

Before being grounded, CSeries jets had completed just over10 per cent of the 2,400 hours worth of in-air testing that Transport Canada requires before approving certification of a plane for use in Canadian airspace.

The companysays theCSeries is still on track to enter service in the second half of 2015, a little over a year from now.
