Another guilty plea in 2008 Mission double murder

Thomas Robert Holden, the last of four men charged in a double murder in Mission eight years ago, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder.

Thomas RobertHolden, the last of four men charged in a double murder in Missioneight years ago,has pleadedguilty to one charge of conspiracy to commit murder.

Holden, who was released on bail,will be sentenced in January for his role in the 2008shooting murders of Lisa Dudley and Guthrie McKay.

Mission RCMPfaced criticism in the case for not following up on a 911 call of shots fired. An officer sent to the home never got out of his car to investigate.

A neighbour found Dudleybarely alive,bleeding and tied to a chair in the home four days after she was shot.She died a short timelater.

The motive for the killings has been reported as involving a marijuana grow-operation.

Holdenwas also charged withtwo counts offirst degree murder.

Corrections

  • A previous version of this story said Thomas Robert Holden pleaded guilty to two counts of first degree murder. However, the Criminal Justice Branch says the court registry made an error and in fact he pleaded guilty to one charge of conspiracy to commit murder.
