Unidentified body found near site of Tofino whale-watching tragedy

An unidentified body has been recovered close toVargas Island nearTofino, B.C., the BC Coroners Service has confirmed.

On Oct.25, a whale-watching boat capsized in the area,killing five people.One man, 27-year-oldAustralian RaveshanPillay,was never found, but is presumed dead.

"While I appreciate there is certainly interest with the possibility this may be linked to the missing person from the Leviathan, it is premature to suggest so," said Matthew Brown with the Coroners Service.

Five British citizens died after the boat went down, and 21 people were plucked from the water by locals who responded to a flare and radio calls.

Divers searched for Pillay for several days, at times having to call off their search due tothree- to four-metre swells.
