Chilliwack man charged with child enticement in Idaho

A Canadian man has been charged with child enticement in Idaho after police say he arranged to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex at a parking lot.

A Canadian man has been charged with child enticement in Idaho after police say hearranged to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex at aparking lot.

The 42-year-old man from Chilliwack, B.C. thought he was exchanging messages with a young girl, but Ada County Sheriff's say it was actually one of their detectives.

Police say the detectives began their investigationafter the accused posted aCraigslistad that indicated he was soliciting sex from teenage girls in Boise.

A detective answered the ad, posedasa 14-year-old girl. Police say the messaging between the twobecame sexual in nature.

John R. Jones was arrested,Friday, when he showed up at the meeting place.

He nowfaces three charges, including enticing a child over the internet, lewd conduct with a child under 16 and sexual abuse of a child under 16.

Jones will make his initial court appearance Monday afternoon.

The crime of enticement of children over the internet in Idahois punishable by up to 15 years in prison, police say.
