Former Mission B.C. elementary school principal Jason Obert is charged with child luring after Abbotsford police investigated a video captured by Fraser Valley Creep Catchers on Oct. 21.

The Mission School District Superintendent Angus Wilson confirmed that Obertwas suspended after the video became public last month, as student safety is a priority.

Abbotsford Police say the 37-year-old was chargedFriday following an investigation that was triggered by the vigilante group Fraser Valley Creep Catchers.

The video was taken in a food court in an Abbotsford shopping mall.

Abbotsford police investigators met with FVCCon Oct. 24 and took possession of the video.

That investigation led to a report that was sent to Crown Counsel with the "recommendation of charges."

A court order restricts Obert from communicating (in person or online)or being alone with anybody under 18.

He's also told not to be in parks, school grounds, daycares, pools, playgrounds, skating rinks, community or recreation centres.
