Homeless man turns in $2K found on street in Victoria suburb

A homeless man is being lauded after turning in $2,000 he found on the street in a Victoria suburb because he felt it was "the right thing to do."

A homeless man turnedin $2,000 he found on the street in a Victoria suburbbecause he believedit was "the right thing to do," according to the RCMP.

"This is an incredible display of honesty and selflessness," saidConst. AlexBrubof the West ShoreRCMP.

The Langford man,who is in his 60s and whose name wasn't released,toldpolicehe realized the cash belonged to someone else.

"If we are not successful in identifying the rightful owner within 90 days, this Good Samaritan will receive the cash," said Brub.

Police said anyone trying to claim the cash must be able to provide specific details of the amount, denominations and location where it was found.
