IIO called in to investigate Port Coquitlam death

Th Independent Investigations Office of B.C. has been called in to investigate the death of a PortCoquitlamman.

On Sunday police were called tothe 2100 block of Audrey Drive after reportscame in of a distraught man with a gun who had allegedlyfired shots in the air.

CoquitlamRCMP,along with the Integrated Lower Mainland emergency response team, attendedonly to find the man dead, apparently of a self-inflicted gun shot wound.

IIO B.C. has take over the investigation to determine if there is a connection between the actions of police and the injuries sustained by the male.
