Suspicious barn fire in Langley, B.C. reveals two stolen boats in unused structure

A suspicious barn fire in Langley, B.C. has revealed a cache of stolen propertyincluding two boats, say fire officials.

Langleyfirefighters were called out before 6 a.m. PT and spent the next six hours dealing with the blaze that destroyed the uninsured barn in the 6900-block of 232nd Street.

The empty 3,000-square-footbarn was ablaze by the time fire trucks arrived, said Deputy Chief Bruce Ferguson.

"No animals. No people... and the property owners thought that the barns were all vacant as well, although there was some stolen property located," said Ferguson.

Ferguson said it's believed that somebody was"definitely hiding some stolen material" on the land.

He called the fire "suspicious." Ferguson added the owners had just bought the property and planned to develop it. He said they had no insurance on the building that was destroyed by flames.
