36-year-old man hospitalized after stabbing in Surrey

Surrey RCMP say an altercation between several people led to the stabbing of a 36-year-old man on Thursday night.

Police say man's condition is stable, injuries are non-life-threatening

An altercation between as many as sevenpeople led to the stabbing of a 36-year-old manThursday night, according to Surrey RCMP.

It happened in front of a restaurantin the 8200-block of 120 Street shortlybefore 10 p.m.

The B.C. Ambulance Service said the stabbing victim was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Police said in a release that the man's injuries are non-life-threatening and his condition is stable.

Officers canvassed the areaThursday night, and spoke with several witnesses.

Staff Sgt. Joe Johal said officerstook three people into custody and are trying to figure out who may have been responsible for the stabbing. It's unclear if the suspects are cooperating with police.
