1 dead, 2 taken to hospital after crash in Surrey, B.C.: RCMP

Police are asking for the public's help as they investigatea fatal crash that happened in the Cloverdale area of Surrey, B.C., on Monday afternoon.

Police are asking for the public's help as they investigatea fatal crash that happened in the Cloverdale area of Surrey, B.C., on Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to the collision at the intersection of Highway 10 and 184th Street around 4:40 p.m. PT.

A Dodge Ram pickup truck driving eastbound on Highway 10 struck an Acura sedan that was turning left onto 184th Street, according to a Surrey RCMP release.

Thepassenger in the Acura suffered "catastrophic injuries" and died at the scene, while both drivers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the release said.

Police say the collision caused "significant damage" to both vehicles.

Anyone with more information or dashcam footage is being asked to contact Surrey RCMP at604-599-0502 and quote file 2024-75498.

Police say everyone involved remained at the scene and is co-operating with the investigation, and that alcohol has been ruled out as a contributing factor.

B.C. Emergency Health Services confirmed withCBC News that four ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
