Teenager dead in Abbotsford shooting

An 18-year-old man has died in hospital following a shooting Friday afternoon in Abbotsford.

An 18-year-old man has died in hospital following a shooting Friday afternoon in Abbotsford.

Abbotsfordpolice Const. Ian Macdonald says police responded to a 911 call at 3:20 p.m. PT Friday nearGeorge Ferguson Way and Oriole Crescent.

When police arrived, Macdonald says they found a severely woundedman with a suspected gunshot wound to the chest near a crashed Chrysler 300.

The young man was taken to hospital but diedshortly afterwards.

Macdonald says there have, as yet, been no arrests and suspects the shooting was targeted.

Abbotsford police canvassed the area for further information and any possible suspects. (Kevin MacDonald)

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the case and is on scene.
