RCMPseized more than $19,000in cash after a road rage incident at a McDonald's in Williams Lake, B.C.

Officers were called to the Broadway Avenue restaurant just after 8 a.m. on Saturday. A statement said a road rage incident between two men had escalated and one of them allegedly pulled out a knife.

The pair was arrested and police searched their vehicles for the weapon. Not only did they find the knife, but marijuana and $19,200 in cash, too.

Const. James Mason said it's unusual to find that amount of money in an unrelated vehicle search.

"Sometimes we really get lucky the find of this volume of cash came through an avoidable incident from their end," he said.

"They could've not been involved in [a] confrontation, then we wouldn't even have been on scene to make the discovery that we did."

The officer said police don't see a link between the road rage and the drugs, saying it appears as though it was just "two citizens who disagreed" on how the other was driving.

Mason said the money was seized and an investigation is ongoing. No charges have been recommended.
