Semi-trailer fire shuts down eastbound 16th Avenue

An incident involving a semi-trailer on 16thAvenue at Stoney Trail snarled traffic Sunday morning.

According to EMS, asemi-trailer caught onfire just below Canada Olympic Park shortly after 6 a.m. on the eastbound side of the road.

The Stoney Trail ramp onto eastbound 16th Avenue N.W.was closed for several hours. Sixteenth Avenue re-opened late in the afternoon.

No one was injured.
