Body of Behzad Ahmad, who fell into Yoho River, found

Family friend Sultan Mahmood said the family of the boy who was swept away by the Yoho River is relieved to have some closure today, after learning their son's body has been found.

Family was receiving an update on recovery efforts when they were informed of the discovery

The parents of a boy who was swept away bythe Yoho River arerelieved to have some closure today, after learning their son's body hasbeen found, family friend SultanMahmoodsaid

Behzad Ahmad, 11,hasbeen missingsince Friday evening after he slipped into the Yohoand was pulled away by the current.

Ahmad was on a day trip with his family and was one of two boys who fell into the water. The other boy was rescued, but relatives could not reach Ahmad.

Mahmood saidhe was withAhmad's parents and extended familyin the Banff area on Tuesday morningto meet with Parks Canada staff and get an update on search efforts.

That's when the RCMP interrupted the meeting to announce theyfound the body.

Mahmood said Ahmadwasfound near the Takakkaw Falls area and that the family identified the body.

"It's definitely an emotional time," saidMahmood. "It's sad, but there's also some satisfaction."

He saidthe family isrelieved they can proceed with a funeral service knowingthe boy's body has been found.

"This will give closure to the family, closure to the whole community," said Mahmood.
