Death of woman in Bowness deemed non-criminal, police say

The death of a woman who was found in the northwest neighbourhood of Bowness on Sunday has been determined to be non-criminal, police said in a statement.

Her identity has not been confirmed and the investigation is ongoing

The death of a woman who was found in the northwest neighbourhood of Bowness on Sunday has been deemednon-criminal, Calgary police said Tuesday.

An autopsy wascompleted Tuesday but the cause ofdeath was undetermined, they said.

Police said the woman may have died due to a drug overdose. However, they said, first responders were not contacted when she died.

Police found the woman's body around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday when investigators were at a house in the 7900 block of 36th Avenue N.W. for a wellness check on a missing person,police told CBC News.

Police are still working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the woman's identity. The investigation is ongoing.
