Parks workers may intensify strike

Benson and other PSAC members are camped outside the Winnipeg office of Treasury Board President Reg Alcock. She says Alcock is the man who controls the purse strings and is the key to bringing the strike to an end.

"We want to know where Mr. Alcock is. He certainly has the authority to send the negotiating team back to the bargaining table and we'd like him to quit abdicating his job. He is certainly abdicating his responsibility and it's time that negotiations were underway."

Benson says PSAC members who work in other areas of government will soon be in a legal strike position and may join Parks Canada members on the picket line.

PSAC is looking for improvements to wages, benefits and job security. The strike is more than two weeks old.
