Calgary postal worker accused of stealing mail

A 42-year-old postal worker in Calgary is being accused of stealing mail containing more than $30,000 in merchandise.

A 42-year-old postal worker in Calgary is being accused of stealing mail containing more than $30,000 in merchandise.

The Calgary Police Service along with Canada Post Security and Investigation Services charged the man with theft from mail over $5,000.

Police allege the man was stealing phones that were destined to go back to the manufacturer.

Investigators say the thefts took place between September and December last year at Canada Posts distribution centre in N.E. Calgary.

The man will make his first court appearance on Feb. 7.
