Driver of lifted truck with tinted windows who hit woman with dog still sought by Calgary police

Calgary police are renewing their call to the public for help in identifying the driver of a large vehicle who seriously injured a pedestrian in July and then fled.

Calgary police are renewing their call to the public for help in identifying the driver of a large vehicle who seriously injured a pedestrian in July and then fled.

The victim, a woman in her late 20s, was walking her dog through the north end of a parking lot near Pearce Island Estate in the Inglewood-Ramsay area around 4 p.m.on Friday, July 26.

Police say the driver of the truck turned a corner and struck her.

"It is believed the driver of the truck then quickly left the parking lot, driving over a curb and hitting a metal gate on the way out," police said in a Thursday release.

"The woman was transported to hospital in serious condition and the driver did not return to the scene. The dog fled but was recovered shortly afterward."

Police described the vehicle as "a white, newer model Toyota Tacoma quad cab truck, with tinted windows, lifted suspension, black rims, black bumper, and tinted headlight covers."
