Organizers are gearing up for events across the city this Saturday as Calgary celebrates Canada's 150th anniversary, but with it comes road closures and parking challenges.

Organizers are gearing up for events across the city this Saturday as Calgary celebrates Canada's 150th anniversary, but with it comes road closures and parking challenges.

  • The city is offering free parking on-street and in six city-owned parkades including McDougall Parkade, Centennial Parkade, City Centre Parkade, James Short Parkade, Convention Centre ParkadeandCity Hall Parkade,while some other lots will have holiday rates.
  • Calgary Transit will operate on a Sunday service schedule.
  • The Southland and Village Square Leisure Centres are open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Outdoor pools and spray parks are open across the city.
  • Some landfills are open but not all. Check here for hours and locations.
  • North Mount Pleasant and Wildflower Arts Centres, Animal Services Centre, Nature Centre at Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, athletic parks, the Calgary Soccer Centre and all city administration buildings are closed.
