Brad Ingram's Christmas present for his wife landed with a thud on the doorstep of his Langdon, Alta., home this week.

But not because he didn't put enough thought into what to get her.

Security video from Ingram's home shows a Canada Post workerthrowing an Amazon package up the steps using an underhanded motion. The package tumbles across the porch and out of the camera's view.

"I was angry ... and I didn't understand why he couldn't take the extra five steps up the front step and set the package down," said Ingram.

Not wanting to spoil the surprise for his wife, Ingram wouldn't say exactly what was in the package, but added it did not break.

Ingram posted the video to social media, which garnered plenty of response.

"Canada Post contacted me through Facebook and asked me for a the tracking number as well as my address," said Ingram.

"I sent them to them and their response to me was, 'if your package hasn't been delivered in 24 hours, ask the sender to file a claim.' So, they clearly didn't have any idea why I was contacting them."

Canada Post told CBC Calgary it is looking into what happened.

"We've looked into this and can confirm that this is someone who works for Canada Post," reads a statement emailed to CBCNews.

"This is certainly not the way we expect to have parcels delivered and does not reflect the hard work of our employees. We are addressing this matter internally.
