Police investigate after body found in suitcase in Calgary industrial area

Calgary police have started a suspicious death investigation after the discovery of a body in a suitcase in the Manchester Industrial area on Tuesday.

Calgary police are investigating after a body was discovered in a suitcasein the Manchester Industrial area on Tuesday.

Police were called to an area outside an industrial complex in the 5500 block of First Street S.W. shortly after 3 p.m. on April11 for reports that a body had been found, according to a news release.

The homicide unit is handling the investigation.

One person has been questioned in relation to the incident, police said, buttheir involvement is not known pending further investigation.

An autopsy on Wednesday identified the victim as John SidneyTaylor, 62.

Further tests must be conducted to determine the cause of death, the release said.

Police areinvestigating Taylor's death as suspicious.

"It is believed that Taylor died elsewhere and his body was transported to the location in which it was found," the release said.
