Police are looking for a man who allegedly groped a woman multiple times at a northeast Calgary grocery store.

A woman walked into the Sunridge Real Canadian Superstore just before the 11 p.m. closing time on Tuesday, when a man allegedly touched her buttocks as she was reaching for a shopping basket, Calgary police said in a Thursday release.

"The victim did not challenge the suspect as she thought it may have been accidental. Several minutes later, the suspect walked by the victim who was in another part of the store. He again allegedly touched her buttocks then quickly walked away and joined up with a woman and child further down the aisle," police said.

As the victim was waiting to pay for her groceries, she noticed the suspect in a nearby line and asked the cashier if someone could walk her to the parking lot. While she waited for that help, the man allegedly walked by her several times grabbing her again, police said.

"The victim reacted and slapped the suspect in the head, at which time he ran out of the store."

The man, who was wearing a white T-shirt and grey pants, left the area driving a tan-coloured minivan, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact Calgary police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
