High winds prompt highway travel advisory

RCMP are advising motorists to take caution when travelling on highways Monday after high winds pushed several vehicles off the road.

Wind warnings in place around central and southern portions of province

RCMP are advising motorists to take caution when travelling on highways Monday as high winds arepushingvehicles off the road.

Winds are highest in the south, where RaymondRCMPadvise travel is not recommended on Highways 4, 5,62 and surrounding highways.

RCMP in Coaldale, just east of Lethbridge, said there have been several rollover collisions caused by high winds.

A wind warning is in effect for the area with wind gusts of up to 100 km/h possible. Environment Canada issued wind warnings for much of the central and southern portions of the province.
