Calgary police are investigating separate hit-and-run incidents that sent two teenagers to hospital this month, including one with life-threatening injuries.

In the most recent case, a 14-year-old was struck Wednesday shortly after 12:30 p.m. in the community of Crescent Heights.

Police believe theteenager was crossing First Street N.W. at the intersection of 11th Avenue N.W., when he was hit by a four-door sedan described as a black Audi.

Investigators believethe Audi was travelling northbound at high speed when itstruck the teenager, causing him to be thrownroughly 25 metres from where he was originally hit.

Police said the pedestrian sustained seriouslife-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. Officers believe the vehicle would have sustainedextensive front-end damage.

Meanwhile, police are also looking into another hit-and-run that occurred around 7 p.m.on Oct. 17 in the community of Montgomery.

Police believe a teenage male was crossing 16th Avenue N.W., at the intersection of 46th Street N.W., with the crosswalk signal activated when the collisionhappened.

While he was crossing, it is believed the 17-year-oldwas struck by a vehicle described as a light-coloured SUV, which then fled the scene.

The pedestrian was rushedto hospital with serious injuries, but his condition has since been upgraded to stable.

Police said the vehicle believed to be responsible for thathit-and-run has been located and seized pending warrants and further examination.

Investigators are encouraging anyone with information about either incident to contact police.
