Homicide unit investigating after woman found dead in car in Calgary's southeast

Calgary police say their homicide unit is investigating what theyre calling a suspicious death of a woman in the citys southeast area of Cranston.

Calgary police say their homicide unit is investigating the death of a woman in the city's southeast area of Cranston.

Police say at about 2:50 p.m. Thursday they found an unconscious and unresponsivewoman inside a parked vehicle in the 500 block of Cranston Drive S.E.

EMS pronounced her dead at that time.Police are calling the death suspicious.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning and police are working to identify the woman and notify her next of kin.

Police are asking anyone with information about the woman's death, or anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area in the early hours of Thursday to contact Calgary police by calling 403-266-1234 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
