Man charged after alleged sexual assault of teen in Kensington

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man aftera 17-year-old reported she had been sexually assaulted earlier this month.

On Sept. 2., at approximately 9 p.m., the female was approached by a man while exiting the Eighth Street CTrain station. They had a brief conversation and the teen started walking to the Kensingtonshopping district.

"It is believed that the man followed and engaged in another conversation with her while sitting on a bench in the 1200 block of Kensington Close N.W., and then sexually assaulted her," said police.

Javier Guadalupe Lozano Martinez, 32, of Calgary, is charged with one count of sexual assault.
