Remains of man missing since June found near Crowsnest Pass, Alta., police say

The remains of an Alberta man missing since June have been found near Crowsnest Pass, police say.

The remains of an Alberta man missing since June have been found near Crowsnest Pass, police say.

RCMP in Crowsnest Pass 165 kilometres southwest of Calgary received a report from Alberta Fish and Wildlife on July 20 about possible human remains in a rural area.

The Alberta RCMPmajor crimes and forensics teams went to the scene and identified the remains asLane Tailfeathers, a 35-year-old man fromFort Macleod, Alta., who was reported missing by his family on June 20.

Tailfeathers had beenlast seen in Fort Macleod a town nearly 155 kilometres southeast of Calgary and just over 80 kilometres northeast of Crowsnest Pass.

RCMP are treating the death as suspicious, they said in a news release.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes have taken over the investigation. An update will be provided when there is more information, police say.
