Lethbridge man charged with murder after deadly assault on woman

A Lethbridge man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 37-year-old Cynthia Pearl Badarm earlier this week.

Police responded on Wednesday to a call about an assault and found Badarm conscious and able to speak with them.

A male acquaintance of the victim was arrested a short distance away. Hewas charged with assault and then released.

Later that afternoon police were informed Badarm, who had been taken to hospital, died from her injuries.

The medical examiner in Calgary determined on Thursday thatBadarm died from injuries caused by blunt-force trauma.
