Charges pending in death of Lethbridge baby boy

A Lethbridge man faces charges in the blunt force trauma death of a nine-month-old baby boy, Lethbridge police said in a release.

Charges are pending in the blunt force trauma death of a nine-month-old baby boy, Lethbridge police said in a release Wednesday.

Paramedics responded to the 600 block of 17 Street North on April 28 to find Austin Wright in cardiac arrest and not breathing. He was pronounced dead at hospital.

An autopsy declared his death a homicide, despite family members reporting at the time the baby had simply stopped breathing.

Lethbridge police arrested a man Wednesday and say he will be charged related to the death.

Police say they expect to have more information on Thursday.
