Mission death prompts murder charge for Calgary man

A Calgary man has been charged in connection with a womans death in theMission neighbourhood on the weekend.

Police were called to a residence in the 200 block of Holy Cross Lane S.W. on Sunday afternoon where they found awoman in her 40s dead.

Officers took a person of interest into custody at the scene.

A 24-year-old man is now charged with second-degree murder, police said on Monday.

Investigators believe the two were in a relationship and the homicide was related to their domestic situation.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. The victims identity will be released after that, police said.
