Motorcyclist killed in collision with tree in northwest Calgary

A man is dead after a motorcycle crash in northwest Calgary on Monday night.

His motorbike went onthe median and struck a tree at Hidden Ranch Boulevard and Hidden Valley Drive N.W., police say.

It happened at about 8:40 p.m.

Witnesses called 911 and initiated first aid, but when paramedics arrived a short time later the man, believed to be in his late 20s, was declared dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved.

Police are investigating what led to the crash.
